VAKA (BOAT TOURS)
These tours are done on typical island fish boats fully equipped with all the necessary needs to enjoy our trips around the island safely. From Hanga Piko peer, place where we begin all our journeys to the sea.
Motus: Boat trip towards the three Motus (islets) at the south side of the island. These are Moti Iti, Motu Kao Kao, Motu Nui islets where long ago the Birdman (Tangata Manu) competition was held. Today, we can enjoy the beautiful view of these islets, the incomparable turquoise color of the sea and if the weather and sea conditions allow it, you will be able to swim and snorkel around them.

Anakena: The boat trip towards Anakena beach is done bordering the north coast. You will be able to enjoy the view of Hanga O Teo, the northern less visited side of the island, it’s cliffs, coves and beautiful changing ocean colors until we reach Anakena beach were you will be awaited with a delicious Rapanui style lunch under the palm trees. The return to town will be on our vehicles.

Open Sea Fishing: On local fisherman boats you will depart from Hanga Piko peer towards the fishing areas where our guides will teach you to fish with “lines” ( lienzas). Our guests need to have previous experience in open sea fishing.
Duration: ½ day
Motu Tautara: You will depart from Hanga Piko peer bordering Hanga Roa town’s coastline. This trip provides a great view from the ocean towards the island, especially when reaching Tahai National Park, where you can appreciate the back view of the mythical Tahai moais. Once you reach Motu Tautara you will be part of an incredible setting, which includes a great variety of marine life and extraordinary shades of blue surrounding the islet. Ideal trip for photography lovers.
