DISCOVER- MOAI TOUR

This is a five-day tour that will submerge you in an intense lesson and a direct connection with the creation of the moai. During these five days we will try to resolve and understand the mysteries that lay around these immense stone statues. Along our expert Rapanui guides, who will tell us the stories the way their ancestors told them, what better way to know first hand about the mysteries of the making of the moai?

We will begin by identifying the different types of Ahu (ceremonial platforms) that exists around the island, the purpose and fabrication of the Pukao ( moai hat tops), tattoos and decorations on the statues themselves and the different types of moais that remain. You will discover and go round Rano Raraku quarry completely, taking all the less known trails that exist from this sector leading to incredible caverns, petroglyphs and toppled moais ruins.

We will also follow the mystic moai trail that will lead you to make the same route the moais did when transported from the quarry to their final destination, the ceremonial sites, in the past. You’ll continue the journey to many hidden, mysterious and mystic places only our Rapanui guides can show you, finalizing this magical experience with a traditional farewell Rapanui style.
